Who we are and what we do
MVBC was established in 1978. Our membership hovers around 25 active members and 2 retired. We meet monthly in Bristol and are active supporters of the CT. B.A.S.S. Federation. We host the pairings meeting for the Federation 2 day event and have been sponsoring the Federation's raffle for several years.
Our tournament trail consists of eight events, of which a member's best six finishes are counted toward our “Bass Fisherman of the Year” trophy. We also run our tournaments as team events, where members can work together to achieve the best result.

We have received a very nice write-up in the BASS Times publication and Community Service awards from the CT BASS Federation for our efforts on behalf of the Toys for Tots program. Boat loads of toys are collected and delivered to the US Marine Corps Reserves for distribution to kids around Connecticut.
Every year we travel to Lake Champlain in May for several days of fantastic smallmouth bass fishing. Fish weighing 2 to 3 pounds are common and very willing to give a good account of themselves. Several fish weighing 4 plus pounds are caught with an occasional 5 plus hawg that would impress any angler. In June, we return to fish the Lake Champlain Invitational, which is a three day event. A few of our members bring their sons or daughters as team members for a great family get-away. We have been making these trips for the past 15 years and have learned to both enjoy and respect this fantastic fishery.
